Doorstep Library is delighted to once again have been chosen as one of Chiswick Book Festival’s charity partners. Having operated in Hammersmith and Fulham for over 10 years, Chiswick Book Festival has been one of our greatest and longest-standing supporters in the area.
The festival takes place every September and in the past 12 years they have raised over £100,000 for charitable causes as well as St Michael & All Angels Church which hosts, runs and underwrites the festival.
Each year Chiswick Book Festival brings together leading authors and readers for a long weekend of history, poetry, biography, children’s books, creative writing and much more. As a non-profit community event the festival raises money for St Michael & All Angels Church as well as their three charity partners – Doorstep Library, InterAct Stroke Support and The Felix Project.
Due to the pandemic, we were not able to meet in person last year but we are happy to now be returning for this year’s festival. We will be manning our own stall during the weekend, talking about our fantastic work with visitors as well providing information on how you can get involved.
“We are delighted to be taking part in the Chiswick Book Festival again this year. Doorstep Library is a community-focused charity and we value the support of our local partners. We are so happy to be able to return to meeting people in person, getting out on the ground in the communities where we work and talking about the work our amazing team of volunteers do. If you are interested in joining our team of reading volunteers, or supporting our charity in other ways, do please come along and have a chat. “
Katie Bareham, CEO of Doorstep Library
