Sandy Ryan

Sandy is responsible for our business operations and charity governance. She studied English & Scottish Literature at university and her love of books & literature saw her train as a book and archive conservator. She worked for many years at the British Library in conservation, gaining an MSc in Conservation Science, and latterly in collections management. After leaving the BL she spent five years running a housing charity in South London.

A huge rugby fan and keen gardener, her favourite children’s book is Carbonel: The  King of the Cats by Barbara Sleigh, which was read to her as a child by her older sister.

Help a child to read – volunteer today

We urgently need people with a passion for reading to join our volunteer team and support the number of families we have on our books waiting to be paired with a Reading Volunteer.
